FLEET INCREASES – TRASH BEWARE

MCII will take delivery (again) of their specially outfitted deployment vessel. Returned for some modifications in the spring, the Sheldon Brotman will return to service for the fall campaign and thereafter. This special vessel is a 19 foot inflatable pontoon vessel made by TEC Innovations, the same company that manufactured the floating collars for the space capsules, features a through hull entry and exit port. This allows the pontoons to break up waves and provide smooth transitions for the divers. The 19 foot vessel has a 90 HP motor, VHS radio, depth and GPS instruments, underwater flood lighting and seating and secure places for 6 divers.

This equipment working in coordination with the Channel Cat, our shallow water jet drive bridge boat. Safety sleds to attach to jet skis and the skis themselves are soon to be delivered, rounding out the equipment needed to increase the impact MCII can make towards the removal of mid to large sized debris around the state.
